A Zihuatanejo, Mexico Engagement Session

February 10, 2023

As an engagement photographer based in Florida, I simply have an obsession with tropical locations as a photo backdrop. After getting married myself in Zihuatanejo, Mexico last year, I was thrilled when the opportunity presented itself to go back and photograph Morgan and Chloe’s engagement photos there.

What I love about Zihuatanejo is that it’s filled with such unique culture and charm for an old fishing village. The vibrant colors of the buildings and the turquoise waters of the bay riddled with fishing boats creates the perfect backdrop for photos. Having spent a good amount of time in Zihuatanejo the year prior, I really felt like this time I knew my way around and was able to photograph my favorite locations.

We started our engagement session at 5 de Mayo, the street most known by English speakers as where Bandido’s restaurant can be found. After strolling the side streets we made our way past a quaint Catholic church and on towards Playa la Ropa, one of the most beautiful beaches in the area.

As the sun began to set, we walked through the charming streets of Zihuatanejo, where Morgan and Chloe had a Corona from the corner market. We finished up as we walked towards the Zihuatanejo pier and the two sat and watched as the sky and our surroundings turned pink. It really was the perfect evening that made for the most perfect Zihuatanejo engagement photos.

BEHIND THE LENS

Photographer, dreamer, traveler.
Inspired by the beauty our natural world offers and the people we get to share it with.

My approach on a wedding day is to turn your moments into art which you’re proud to display in your home and pass down to generations. We strive to be in the balance between capturing moments as they’re happening, and stepping in to direct and pose when needed. The end result is a gallery that feels like fine art and brings you right back to the best day of your life.
